Settle in FreshFam, because today we are getting down to the nitty-gritty. We’re going to be talking all about 100% cotton fabric and cotton/poly fabric blend. What you need to know, which one is better for you, special care instructions, and more. That being said, let’s dive the heck in.
Now as you may, or may not, know, our most popular Crew and V-Neck tees are a super soft cotton/poly fabric blend, they are offered as single tees, as well as 3-packs and 5-packs.
However, we also have styles that are 100% cotton, like our Tanks, Long Sleeves, Longlines, and Pocket Tees! Now that we’re clear on what products are made with what fabric, let’s get into the difference between the two.
100% Cotton
Cotton is a hypoallergenic fabric, so if you’re someone with sensitive skin, a 100% cotton fabric will probably suit you better than our fabric blend. Cotton is also a very breathable fabric, lightweight cotton is ideal for summertime in hot environments but stay away from heavy cotton in the summer, unless you want to be sweating like a dog.
Typically, 100% cotton fabric is expected to shrink more than cotton/poly, to avoid this, make sure to wash with cold water and always hang to dry. Another aspect of caring for cotton is ironing, 100% cotton tends to get wrinkled easily and ironing is typically needed.
Cotton/Poly Fabric Blend
When it comes to cotton/poly, it’s a super versatile fabric, the color doesn’t fade, they hold their shape better, and are less prone to fewer wrinkles than 100% cotton fabric. The cotton/poly blend is also much easier to maintain. While 100% cotton can be a tricky fabric to wash and dry, cotton/poly is much easier and doesn’t react the same to heat. It also is better for sweating and working out. While 100% cotton is a little more breathable, the poly in the cotton/poly blend works to help whisk away moisture.
The Verdict:
As you can see, the debate between which fabric is better is not totally black and white. While we love our cotton/poly blend, there are also a lot of guys who prefer 100% cotton! Our advice? Don’t knock it till you try it. Try both fabric styles to determine which one best suits you. Check out our lineup today!
