Each year, paint company and beloved color authority Pantone, and more specifically its internal consulting firm known as The Pantone Color Institute, captures the year's mood with a declaration of its official color.
It reflects the annual as well as the era. It observes the moody going-ons of human beings during Earth's rotation around the sun. It tells us mortals what color of super-soft fitted t-shirts we should be wearing to find ourselves truly celebrating our very specific place in the current wave of time.
It’s also just, like, this fun thing we as a culture turn into an exalted higher power — sort of like Punxsutawney Phil, the wise ol' groundhog we ask about winter.
And, once again, Pantone has nailed the vibe.
For 2021, as we peek beyond a dominating global pandemic, Pantone’s “Color of the Year” is the tag-team duo of… *drum roll* ... *rising cries of enthralled curiosity ... “Ultimate Gray” and “Illuminating” (aka vibrant yellow)!
It makes a whole lot of sense when you learn why.
"The union of an enduring Ultimate Gray with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude. Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted; this is essential to the human spirit." - Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of The Pantone Color Institute
For us here at Fresh Clean Tees, this announcement means we can raid our own stash to be incredibly, superbly, and very colorfully in style. That’s right! While Pantone has Ultimate Gray and Illuminating, Fresh Clean Tees has Charcoal and Shine!
So if you're prowling for a way to dress in this year's officially announced colors, then we've got your back:

Thus, we tip our tees to the very strong, hopeful year ahead.
