What's up FreshFam! We know 2020 was a rough year, for everyone. Whether you dealt with financial hardship, physical illness, or mental struggles, everyone was affected by 2020 in one way or another. So to start 2021 off on a better note, here are 5 ways to make your New Year FRESH.
1. Reduce your screen time.
2020 was insane, and with the lockdowns and stay at home orders, we all spent a lot of time looking at a screen. Whether you were working online, binging Netflix shows, or perusing Instagram, odds are, you could use a break. So in 2021, make it a goal to get up and get outside more, put away the screens.
2. Spend more time with family and loved ones.
If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that none of us have any idea what the future holds, or how long we have with our loved ones. It also taught us that you don’t always have to ‘be together’ to be together, so hop on facetime with your mom and tell her you love her.
3. Learn something new.
Pick up a new hobby this year, something that allows you to disconnect and have FUN! Whether that means painting, hiking, or playing a new instrument, there are so many fun ways to challenge yourself to grow.
4. Take time to be still.
The world never stops spinning, but that doesn’t mean we have to do the same. Constantly comparing ourselves to others, trying to be ‘busy’ all the time, and setting unrealistic expectations for ourselves, are all ways we tend to burn out. So remember, it’s okay to take an hour for yourself, in fact, it’s more than okay, it’s necessary. Be sure to give yourself the time you need to relax and reset this year.
