We F’ed Up.
Let’s get one thing out of the way first: we didn’t mess up the tees. Those only got better.
What we got wrong was thinking we needed to become more than a t-shirt company.
Fresh Clean Tees started 10 years ago in the guest bedroom of Matthew and Melissa’s condo in San Diego. The shirts were kept in the garage. They packed every order themselves. When a customer emailed with a question, one of them answered it, because there was nobody else to do it.
There wasn’t some massive plan for what the company would become.
The idea was pretty simple: make the best t-shirt we possibly could and treat the people who bought it like we knew them.
And we did.
Then We Got Ambitious.
That simple idea worked.
People came to us for tees, told their friends about our tees, and kept coming back for more. And as the company grew, so did our ambitions.
T-shirts became shirts. Shirts became hoodies, outerwear, bottoms, and more. Eventually, we started thinking that being a bigger company meant we needed to make more things.
So in 2022, Fresh Clean Tees became Fresh Clean Threads.
We’re proud of what we built. We made some great products along the way, learned a ton, and became a better company because of it.
But it took us four years to realize something that seems pretty obvious now:
The t-shirt was never the thing we needed to grow past.
It was the thing worth going deeper on.

The Tee Was Always the Point.
After 10 years of making t-shirts, we’ve learned just how complicated a “simple” tee actually is.
A fraction of an inch can change how a sleeve fits. Fabric weight changes how a shirt drapes. Fiber composition affects softness, breathability, durability, and shrinkage. Then there’s the collar, stitching, length, wash, color, construction, and dozens of other details you may never consciously notice, but absolutely feel when you put it on.
We’ve spent a decade obsessing over those details.
That obsession created our StratuSoft® Tee. It pushed us to develop new fabrics and fits. It taught us how much the smallest details matter when you’re making something people wear over and over again.
And somewhere along the way, we realized that the thing you wear most deserves more of our attention, not less.
So that’s exactly what we’re giving it.

Going Back Means Moving Forward.
Going all-in on t-shirts doesn’t mean doing less.
It means doing a whole lot more with the tee.
Over the next year, you’ll see new fabrics. New fits. New weights. New washes. More colors. New silhouettes. And entirely new collections.
Because there isn’t one perfect t-shirt for every guy.
Some want the fitted arms and chest and more forgiving torso that made our original tee famous. Some want something heavier and more structured. Others want relaxed and boxy. Some want 100% cotton. Others want the softness of StratuSoft® or the broken-in character of a vintage tee.
We want to make all of them.
The goal isn’t to convince every guy there’s one perfect t-shirt.
It’s to help every guy find his perfect t-shirt here.
And We’re Raising the Standard.
Making more kinds of tees only matters if we make better tees.
That obsession starts before a Fresh Clean Tee is even a t-shirt.
We test fabrics for shrinkage, strength, color performance, and safety. We obsess over patterns and measurement tolerances to help keep sizing consistent. And throughout production, we inspect seams, stitching, trims, construction, and measurements against our standards.
Because when you find a tee you love, your next one should fit like your last.
And when something carries the Fresh Clean Tees name, we want it to earn it.
Fabrics tested to applicable current AATCC/ASTM industry standards.
So, We’re Going Back.
Once we decided to put t-shirts back at the absolute center of the company, the name became pretty obvious.
Especially because a lot of you never stopped calling us Fresh Clean Tees anyway.
You were right.
Fresh Clean Threads is becoming Fresh Clean Tees… again.
It isn’t a new name. It’s our original one.
And this isn’t about trying to recreate what we were 10 years ago.
It’s about returning to the same promise we made from that guest bedroom in San Diego, except now we have a decade of experience behind us.
We know more about fabric. More about fit. More about construction. More about what makes a tee last. And, most importantly, more about what you want from us.
We don’t need to make everything.
We just want to make the best damn t-shirts on the planet.
And since you were right about the name, we figure you should have a say in what comes next, too.
Thank you for sticking with us.
