Neck seems tight; doesn’t match FCT crew shirt

I Ordered a 2XLT performance crew because that’s what fits in the standard FCT crew T-Shirt.

But the performance crew seems a lot more “baggy” snd oversize, so I then ordered an XLT (went down one size). But now the XLT chokes my neck so I’m not sure what to do. I think I’ll try to return the XLT because $37 is too much money to just throw away. I love the standard FCT crew shirts, but the performance crew seems off-sized.
